Over the period of 5 weeks, writers will be guided through the process of developing a narrative short film screenplay using various hands-on exercises focusing on the main elements that construct a screenplay: three acts structure and thematic development; Character development; Sequencing events; The dialogue: subtext & interior monologue; Screenplay formatting; and the business of screenwriting/pitching.

To put all the elements into practice, writers will be guided through the process from developing a simple idea into a fully developed screenplay. At the end of the workshop, writers will present their screenplay during a group reading session followed by a one-on-one consultation with mentor.

The workshop will only accept a maximum of 8 screenwriters per group (two groups meeting at different times). This workshop is designed for writers of all levels.
